STABLE ISOTOPE RATIO MASS SPECTROMETER
The Nu Perspective IRMS instrument is designed as the ultimate next generation IRMS with the largest mass dispersion by far (60cm for CO2) of any IRMS. The collector array can accommodate up to 12 Faraday detectors giving flexibility for all current and future IRMS research applications. It uses the patented Nu Instruments variable zoom optics to monitor masses from 2 to 150 with exact coincidence.
Sample preparation
The Nu Perspective is configured for a wide range of both CF and DI sample introduction systems. CF inlets are connected via an automated isolation valve and include capillary gas chromatography (Agilent 7890A) and elemental analysers (Eurovector or HEKAtech). The Dual Inlet is located in a separate cabinet with the sample inlet valve on the ion source housing, minimising dead volume and gas path lengths. DI sample options include a carbonate/phosphoric acid preparation unit, a water equilibration unit and a sample manifold with optional crackers.
